gal (b. 2000, locarno, switzerland) combines mediums in a very aware way. it’s a combination between videomaking, painting, theatre, prints, ceramics, music, ai, or installation. being born in a clown’s family and doing physical theatre since a young age, gal uses (his) body and movement as storyteller and point of view. because of his influences from popular culture everyone can understand gal’s art and receive its message to create an accessible and fun artwork experience. gal is interested in journalism (which he studied), (his) queerness, movement, colors, people, politics, bodies, sex.

“the gal and freddy show” tells the story of a duo deals with the success of their sketch humour show and the consequences it has
on their relationship, using the language of children’s television and sensitivities to physical theatre and home-made environments.

this big print is a collage of several naked or semi-naked pictures i have made in front of my mirror, including elements of my body that i find appealing to the male gaze to create a mythical creature of "perfection". the size and placement support this idea of dimension, making the viewer feel smaller. inspired by a painting in the kunsthaus (zh), its placement has the viewer's eyesight at the height of the hips, inviting a sense of inferiority and of sexual (oral) duties to the figure.

This work was made during gal's time in chicago, reflecting with humour on the contrast between what immigrants ("aliens") do and how they are perceived.
