The_Creator

Yann Oppenheim is a photographer based between Lake Geneva and Zurich, working across two cameras that pull in opposite directions. The Hasselblad asks for patience and for deciding before the shutter rather than after. The Leica Q2, fixed at 28mm, asks him to walk into the frame and get close enough that distance stops being an option. Between the two sits most of what interests him: the considered image and the one he had to be quick enough to catch. By day he runs Ottor Branding, building visual language for other companies, and the commercial work taught him composition as argument, how a frame persuades. The personal work lets him drop the argument and simply look.
